It's an electronic temperature control system that automatically ventilates heat from the grinding chamber so coffee is unaffected while grinding. With Active Thermal Control, coffee is kept consistently fresh while grinding.
The SL's 83mm flat burrs and 500 W motor rip through coffee at a high rate, dispensing at about 4 grams per second. With the Steady Lock system, the burrs are kept at a constant distance, no matter how much work has been done. Grind adjustment is a breeze thanks to the Quick Set Gear, which smoothly shifts between grind sizes by rotating the adjustment knob.
